Blazer tops condensation
I have two blazers one has a double wall top and one has a single wall top. I picked up the 72 with a single wall top to put on my 71 that is a double but i notice that the single wall top is always quite wet on the ceiling where the double wall is always bone dry. Do you guys find this to be true with your tops as well? I always thought the single walls were better but I don't care for water drops dropping on my head while I'm driving.
Also does anyone know what years came with the double and what years came with the single wall tops? |

I don't know much about the Blazers but, (there's always a but ain't there) that has been my beleive why the inside, above the windsheild on a typical cab of a 67-72 Chevy pu rusts out. There is no ventalation up there! What happens when you have no ventalation in the roof of a house, eventually it rots.

I've had both types of tops- and never experienced your problem. I have been using my Blazers as daily drivers for 6 years with both types of tops. Never had condensation as a problem. They are outside 24-7, never garaged.
Could it be a climate thing? |

I've never seen this problem on my '69. Come to think of it, I've never heard of it either. Must be one of those things.

My 72 has a single wall top and it condinsates so bad that it will rain on you if you don't take a towell to wipe it down. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

With a double wall roof you wouldn't see the condensation until it rots through the inside panel, and climate would have much to do with it.

I have a single wall, and it condensates also. I wonder if it'd help if it was coated in truck bed liner?/Rhino?

That condensation is usually caused by moisture inside the truck. Are your floor pans and rear floor intact and sealed? It is usually caused by permanently soaked carpeting or the insulation under the carpeting. If the truck is dry inside, you won't get the condenstation.

Condinsation is also caused by the humidity in the air. If the temprature of the surface that is getting moist is warmer than the ambient temprature, condinsation is the result. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

If you decide to sell the single wall top I would be interested in buying it. Just thought I would ask. By the way I'm located in Seattle.

The floor is getting wet from the corner windshield to top seal is split. so the floor nearest to the doors stays pretty damp. I wouldn't think that it woud draw that much condensation on the top all the way towards the hatch though. I plan to rhino line my floor at some point so mayhaps that would help things.
the single wall top is only for sale if you buy the whole blazer |

I have not had problems with my top either in the Seattle weather. Should make sure all your seals are good so moisture does not get in.
