Moving to Eugene, OR

Hey All-

I will be relocating to Eugene OR in the next few weeks. I was wondering:

What kind of events (weekly shows, swap meets, etc.) happen there.

What is the community like towards classics.

I lived there when I was younger anddon't recall these details.

Also, does anyone have any tips for truck transport. My 62 is not in shape to safely make the hike (970 miles) and is too big to legally tow behind the 26' Penske.

Plenty of car shows and cruises in the summer. If thats not enough then theres a dozen or so car clubs to suit your fancy. I would like to see more swap meets around, but i normally don't have problems finding what i need for my 65'.

Wow, what a drive. I ran a 26' Penske towing my car (just a little blue rollerskate of a car). Now I need to have my truck shipped... At least my garage is up and ready to receive. I heard there is a huge show in Junction City on or around the 2nd, can anyone confirm?

Yes, this is correct. The 'official' cruise is held in Junction city, but the car show is held at a farm between Eugene and Junction city. Closer to Eugene then Junction city. The cruise used to be held in Eugene on river road but they moved it to Junction City because of traffic issues. Even though cruise is held in Junction City people still cruise river road both friday and saturday night. Welcome to Eugene.
