More voltage regulator questions...

I was having probs with charging so I converted to an internal regulator set up. Thanks for all the previous posts concerning the wiring. However, I now get 13.8V at the rear of the alternator but only 13.05 at the battery (at idle, no load)...when I increase the RPM above about 1500 I blow a 30A fuse (placed, by the PO, where the fusable link used to reside). Any thoughts?

Re: More voltage regulator questions...

I can't really help you. I was getting 14.5 at the rear and 13.5 at the alt at idle. That fuse is going to blow way faster than a fusable link. A fusable link is made to heat up and cool down to a certain extent the fuse will blow quickly if more than 30amps is applied.

Re: More voltage regulator questions...

Check your wires the 30 year old wires could be badd causeing you not to get as much to the battery
