To anyone that's using the 3/4 length Chevelle Headers on our trucks, what angle does the collector come down at? Is it a simple 45 degree angle or something different? I'm thinking of putting these on my truck and trying to figure out how easy it will be to run pipes after them. Thanks.

I am also trying to find out the fit of these headers. If anybody has done this swap, please give the rest of us some info.... What year model chevelle headers? Are there any clearance issues? It looks like there are a lot of us out there who don't like the "headers hanging below the frame" look!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

These are the headers going on my big block.

They are Chevelle "shorty" headers that exit well above the frame. Nothing worse than dragging your collectors on the ground, especially with a lowered truck.

Oh, forgot to mention, I'm talking about the small block headers.

I'd imagine that the big block ones would exit in generally the same area because they are supposed to fit in the same vehicle.

I dunno the exact angle ... but they run pretty much at the same angle as the frame rail where it starts to go back down ...

does that make sense ?

i've got the same headers Shane's running on my '68 and i love 'em. i'm about to order a set for my '72 suburban and '72 swb. i'm surprised i haven't really done some damage to those full length headers i'm running now. both of my trucks are dropped 3 1/2" in the front and i have to be REAL careful.

I have these headers on my 72 with a 350. I would say the collector angle would be right at 45 degrees. As for the exhaust I fabricated my entire exhaust system and nothing, I repeat nothing hangs below the bottom of the frame and this includes mufflers and dumps. I did this as my truck is bagged and I didn't like the idea of it getting all banged up if the truck ever happened to drag. The only thing I had to add was a set of heat shields above the mufflers as they are somewhat close to the cab floor.

Shane- Dynomax says that those headers will not "blue" and are guaranteed not to rust. I have yet to see a set of headers that didn't blue where they come off the heads. How are yours holding up? Has anybody else out there had any coated headers that didn't "blue"? Those look like some real good headers. Thanks for the info Shane...................................Jerry

Can't tell ya about the "bluing" on these particular headers ... the truck isn't back on the road yet.

BUT, these are Ceramic coated ... not chrome plated. I have seen lots of ceramic coated headers out there that did NOT blue ... but NEVER seen a chrome plated set that didn't.

My bad.....They looked kinda chrome or polished in the pics. Help me out here, as I have never had or seen a set of ceramic coated headers up close, what does the finish look like? When I think of ceramic, all I can think if is little white dishes and crap that my wife collects................ Looks alot like brushed aluminum ... kind of a satin silver. Hard to describe.

I have used the ceramicoat headers before, and will never use anything else. they kinda look like the spray chrome when new. (I have been told that you can polish them) the only thing that they ever did is, if they got wet alot they would get a white powdery look (like those dishes) but a quick wipe with a rag and they were all better. they are great there was absolutly no blueing or rust.
