Need a little help here ..... i'm retarded.

I am having, what seems to be, the worst time finding the right bolts to mount my motor on the new stand.

The motor is a 5.3 GenIII so i know the bolts are metric. I went everywhere ..... Closest i came to the right ones and right length were at HomeDepot but they just doont seem right and i dont want to strip out anything.

I know i need grade 8 also.

Can any of you guys out there that have been thru this please help a brotha out?!

All i need to know is where to go and what to buy. I need them to be about 2 1/2 inches long or so.

Thank in advance .....

-Hart

If your just mounting it to a stand you don't need grade 8 bolts 5 will be more than enough.

Smaller hardware stores like ACE usually have a much better selection of nuts/bolts. There are different thread pitches with the metric, like the fine and coarse thread standard stuff we are used to. Can't help you on exactly what you need though. Good luck.

Look at the numbers on the bolt heads that came from holding the bell on. if metric the size is often times stamped on the bolt head. like 8.2 6.4 as an example. then you'll know what you arelooking for..Or call your friendly bowtie dealer parts dept. Good luck.

I have found that OSH (Orchard Hardware Supply) has a great selection of all sort of nuts, bolts and fasteners.

Your subject line cracked me up... Where does the Navy have you stationed here in California?

Don't know where abouts in Calif. you are, but here in the San Diego area there are several bolt and fastener suppliers. Just look in the yellow pages to find one near you.
