Chick with a question

Hey guys! I have a question...

Met a guy w/ a '68 stepper at a little car show Saturday (won best truck in show). Told him we were working on a '67 4WD stepper and were looking for a bed. He took my number and before I got home good, he called to tell me as he was packing up, some guy asked him about buying his '69 fleet 4WD for. He knew we were looking for a stepper, but figgered we could use some 4x4 parts for our '67. So...what parts could we use from the '69 on the '67? I know the truck doesn't have a transmission in it, but it does have a V8. (Hubby was at the Gulf fishing, so I didn't know what questions to ask about).

IF we get it (a big IF), we'll prolly part it out. Would there be any interest on parts that we don't use? I'm not looking to make a buck....just recover part of the cost of the truck to buy more parts!!!

Re: Chick with a question

If the 69 is a shortbed too you might be better off using its frame if you plan to do suspension mods;lift kits, etc. It will also have the dimpled frame for the power steering even if it didnt have power steering. If you want a V8,and your current one is a 6 cylinder you will need a V8 style front motor crossmember.

Re: Chick with a question

very true....

I have a 68 K-10 and the only issues I have with mine are the dimpled frame to add power steering and the fact that I can't get "off-the-shelf" rear leaf springs. Yes I can fix the frame and leaf issue but it always costs $$$ in the long run....

The 69's axles are no better than yours though... closed knuckles
