Door lock problems
Ive got an alarm with keyless entry setup on my truck. The locks work fine and everything, but when the doors are locked I can push the passenger door button and it will unlock the door.
Whats going on? It wont do this on the drivers side.

Re: Door lock problems
It sounds like it isn't locking all the way. I have to mess with the inside handle sometimes becouse it sticks and wont allow the lock to fully set.

Re: Door lock problems
I haven't made it to the fixing part yet. I would look at the latch first and see if it is clean or not. Then if it is gummed up I would clean it then re-grease it. Someone here might know the right stuff that is supposed to keep them lubed up.

Re: Door lock problems
Its got new door latches... One more thing, the passenger door has to be slammed much harder than the driver door to get it to shut.

Re: Door lock problems
I would think the first order of business would be to clean and lube the mechanism, then try adjusting the door so it doesn't have to be slammed so hard.I have to push against the drivers door of mine while locking it.You may also need to adjust the keyless system, maybe the instruction manual has directions.I have found that usually when a modification is made the system it modifies must be in top condition for it to work correctly.

I think "Panel" is on the right track. With the door closing that hard I bet the latch isn't engaging all the way so it won't let the lock work right. Loosen the door up and see what it does. LockDoc

Re: Door lock problems
You guys were right. The power locks werent pulling it down far enough and the door latch opened it up. I moved the lock motor down and it fixed it. After I put the handle and switch and door panel back on, had it ready to go, I realized I hadnt plugged the motor back in. Then after fixing that up and putting everything back on, I realized I left the key operated lock on the door off....
Its done, but was a pretty painful process. Thanks

Re: Door lock problems
I had the same issue, also have the keyless entry. I'll I needed to do was to lube the locking mechanism from the inside and after a couple of tries it worked.
