Vent wing window seals
I read every post I could find before doing these, and let me assure you that you shouldn't even bother trying this without a bench vise. DEFINITELY get the special "tool" needed for these rivets, along with SPARE rivets!
I'm finally done with these, and I must admit that the seal I rec'd from LMC were IDENTICAL to the factory ones, and fit flawlessly. It's nice to find something repop that actually fits and installs properly. PS... DON'T remove any more rivets than you need to. Here's what I suggest: 1 - only remove the top two rivets that hold the wing outer frame to the upright channel support. This allows enough space to remove/replace the "V" seal, and drill out the 4 rivets that hold the short wing seal in place. 2 - there is NO way to do the reseal without removing the pivot rivet, so it MUST come out. Hope this info helps! |
