Re: Rear seat support
For what is worth, I have had no luck finding the cargo area bench seat stuff either.
I posted a few days ago for ideas on the front mounting clips for that seat. Someone mentioned e-bay for around $50. That is expensive - so I am continuing digging through my parts boxes looking. |

Re: Rear seat support
The front mounting clips tend to go in the $50-65 range. I've seen them as high as $90. There was a board member making them out of blocks of aluminum several years back but I haven't seen him around in a few years.
As for the "legs", you can post a "wanted to buy" listing on the board and I'm sure someone will have what you are looking for. They are the same as the suburban, but I'm not sure if it is the 2nd row or 3rd row seat. No repops are being made.

Re: Rear seat support
Not too familiar with Blazer seat parts, but I found this for you, look at the picture & see if it has the brackets for the back also.

Re: Rear seat support
Looks like I need to become a supporter of this great site!
Just for my own information.....What holds your original rear set to the bed in your Jimmys/Blazers? My seat has "L" type brackets, but they dont line up with the factory holes.....I was told it was a stock seat from a 71 jimmy. Just confused on what I even need to look for...I was thinking there was some kind of assembly between the seat and tub that I must be missing. Otherwise I just have the wrong brackets....like from a Sub or something Thanks

Re: Rear seat support
I've tried to attach some photos that show the brakets. In the back there are 2 or 4 legs (depending on your truck). In the front, there are tubes that rest on the floor and then there are metal "clamp" that bolt down to the floor. The front pieces tend to get lost easy so they sell for a premium. Sorry, I don't have any photos of them but hopefully someone else will.

Re: Rear seat support
Bouncy,
Thanks so much for the Pics...that helps tremendously. I have four rear holes in my bed, and only 2 brackets on the seat..... I need to be looking for a set that matches a 4-bracket rear! Thanks again Josh

Re: Rear seat support
My '72 has 4 holes in the floor, but only two legs on the seat and it is completely stock. The two center holes have seat belt bolts in them. Here's a pic of the back of my seat.

Re: Rear seat support
Blazers came with several different configured rear seats---some with 4 rear mounts, some with seat belts bolted to the rear mounts, some with the outer belts mounted to the side bolts of the seat. There is a heavy duty bracket under the floor to brace the rear seat mounts in case of an accident. there are 4 holes in the floors and in this bracket for the rear seat mounts.

Rcky, use the "correct" seat mounts and mounting position in the truck, otherwise your just tempting fate. Throw out the shade-tree mounts and clamps that you've described that's in there currently and make it right. Another pic of the front clips for ya. |
