the reason you cant lock it and shut the door without it popping back up is because its a safety thing so you dont lock your keys in the truck

I can key glove box locks to work with the ignition/door key. I have made up a couple of sets of them. Sold one set on here and one set on e-Bay.

is a locking gascap a stock thing? because i have one key for the doors and ignition but another small key for the gas cap that looks like the original..and i know my igniton key is the original and the small key looks like an original as its stamped with the gm fuel logo

yea the original owner prolly lost the original an had it replaced shortly after it was new..im the third owner of it and i used to work with the second and he never mention that he replaced the cap..it looks pretty old..but i like it ..deters the gas theives with a water hose lol

Thanks for all the help. I'll assume that I have the right key and that the door lock cylinder is just "froze." What would you suggest for loosening up the mechanism ... graphite, torque, ? The key goes all the way in but won't turn. Could have been an ignition change, but I doubt the key would fit so well in the door

try sprayed some wd-40 or pb blaster into the key slot on the lock and let it sit a bit and spray it a few times over a day and see if it moves, if not pull it out and see if you can soak it to free it up or just get a new one
