Quick Help. 1 or 2 piece rear main seal???
I am going to look at a 350 block to put in my truck and I need to know if a 1 piece rear main seal will work. It is going in a 72 chey super 4X4 with a 350 and 4spd manual. Quick help in needed. The guy selling it doesn't know and I don't either. Thanks.

Either motor will work. They are totally interchangeable. The difference is the flywheel and starter. They are different from the one pc. to the two pc. rear main motors, but both will work with the transmission.

Re: Quick Help. 1 or 2 piece rear main seal???
So I guess that means I get to buy a new flywheel and starter. Probably should anyway I guess. Motor looks good. Here is what they claim: 4 bolt main. bored .030 over, new 2.02 heads, 10.5:1 pistons, roller rockers, custom cam, air gap intake. Intake and heads are new.
The motor was rebuilt a couple of years ago and then sat without being installed. HP claims are high, 400+, but I don't put a lot of weight on claims without something to back it up. Should be a good learning experience for me. I dropped a turnkey motor into my old 72 sub 3/4 4X4 when I had it without a problem but have never had to build from this level. Many questions to come, I am sure. Thanks for the input at this point. |

High 400 hp is a little hard to belivre but, May I ask what they are asking. I't not out of the question but don't want you over spending.
Centsless is right they will intercahnge all but the flywheel and starter. I personally like the one peices design all but haveing to ever change the rear main myself it is a better design other than that. RJ22... |
