What is this? Factory?
Under the box, in front of the rear tires there is the mount pictured below. Both sides have them.
Any idea what they are for? OR if they were factory?

Re: What is this? Factory?
My guess is for aftermarket or dealer installed fuel tanks.

Re: What is this? Factory?
iNTERESTING iNDEED. I want to say they may have been for fuel tanks. Do you have little doors on the side of the bed? Mine had the doors but no tanks or little frame for it. It is neat to see something different on our trucks.

Re: What is this? Factory?
While never seeing a frame like that, I'll say after market aux fuel tanks. Is there a selector on the floor beside the dvr seat?

Re: What is this? Factory?
No extra fuel doors, no extra fuel lines, no extra fuel selector.
They seem small for fuel tanks.

Re: What is this? Factory?
The brackets are hinged.I think they are to hold something besides a fuel tank.Could it be for batteries? What are the dimensions? Are there any other upfit items on the truck? Was it a 5th wheel hauler, camper, other?Black box?If the brackets didn`t show I`d say stashbox,as in secret compartment.

Re: What is this? Factory?
Looks like it was home-made judging by the weld beads on the flatbar.

Re: What is this? Factory?
it looks like a fold down battery mount as special -k said, probably had a camper on it at one time. dose it have any extra holes in the inside of the bed where wires may have been run through ?

Re: What is this? Factory?
No but there are holes in the box sides where it looks like camper tie downs might have been.
I guess it shall remain a mystery.......
