Blazer Carpet

Looking to replace the carpet in my green 71 due to sun fade.

Hoping to find a product that won't fade within two years of use like the last one did.

Maybe no one makes any such thing...dunno.

Might just have to use a UV protectant.

Any input?

Re: Blazer Carpet

I think you will have to find a product to apply, I replaced the green carpet in my 69 RS/SS camaro and it didn't make it very long before it faded. That was supposed to be the best available

Re: Blazer Carpet

Use black carpet. I replaced my orignal brown with black and it's been in there 20 years. BUT, the last 6 it has been indoors and it had a hard top with tinted windows before that.

Black is still the most durable color, though.

Re: Blazer Carpet

I used marine carpet in mine. Hopefully that will last.

Not sure about that one.

Mines black (seriously faded black) that's not very old but the top stays off year round so the sun kicked it's a$$ apparently.

I looked around but can't find any blazer carpet being sold that advertises being UV resistant.

How about a bedliner, they you don't have to worry about it?

Re: Blazer Carpet

For a truck with the top off all the time, the spray on bedliners seems the ideal solution. Otherwise, a hard top and tinted windows works great. My carpet is like new looking even in the Texas sun.

Not an option, this is an all stock resto blazer.

What once was, is again.

Re: Blazer Carpet

I've heard of some uphulstory places that will custom fit carpet. That way you get the kind and grade of carpet you want and a good fit. I'm sure the cost is up there, but it beats changing it out every couple years.

Re: Blazer Carpet

there are plenty of gmc carpet kits that you can choose from. depending on what kind you want plus the budget you have. just get the ones which best fit your car and match the interior, also look for durable and quality one. good luck.. custom made carpet would also be a good option. good luck

Thanks for the link but they don't offer carpet kits for 69/72 blazers/jimmys.
