Re: 6lug rim ?

center hole is too small. you can hog it out, but then the back spacing is way off. Get some off a 2 wheel drive, and they'll only look 1/2 stupid. (back spacing is closer to being right)

Re: 6lug rim ?

In other words, they can be made to "work", but they will not fit.

Re: 6lug rim ?

They work (and look) great going that way Zumo. I used the newer style center caps on mine.

72 cheyenne 402....same thing...the newer wheels have too small a center hole and way too much backspacing.

Re: 6lug rim ?

It sounds like the late model Toyota 6 lug rims are a better fit than Chevy's are for our older 67-70 trucks.

Might be better but "not just right" mine are plain jane Tundra wheels only
because they were free but they work for now
check em out
I'm still trying to figure center caps out cause the Toyota stuff would look
like crap !

Does anyone know the ideal specs? Centre bore, backspacing, offset, etc...

Re: 6 lug rim ?

I guess a better question might be, what are the best fitting wheels for the 67-70 trucks to fit over aftermarket disc brakes?

Re: 6 lug rim ?

i believe that if you have disc brakes front and rear then any 6 lug wheel off todays full size truck or tahoe/suburban will work just fine

if you have disc front and drum rear like me then u will need to get wheels with the bigger center because the small center wont fit over the axle/drum in the rear

i just did this with mine and they fit fine

if u have one of those places that sells all kinds of wheels take yer truck there and try a few different wheels watch the width of the rear wheel so it does not hit the inside of the wheel well

i have 2 inch drop spindles and springs in the front and rear is stock height and i have in the front 275/45-20s with a few inches clearance and in the rear 285/50-20s with a spacer because the drivers side rubbed the inside of the wheel well a very little ( i never checked b/s and offset before i bought make sure u do )
