Spare Tire Size?

What is the best size spare tire to fit up under the truck with stock support, and what is the going rate for a 6 lug split rim these days?

Re: Spare Tire Size?

Man,a 6-lug split rim is rare, yet I doubt worth much to anyone except the guy with the other 3.I`d say a 235/75x15 would be a good fit. That size in 16" fits the 3/4t trucks and the carriers are the same. The 16" is taller, but any size bigger in a 15" will get fatter.

Exclamation Re: Spare Tire Size?

This all sounds good as long as you dont have a posi, or locker in the rear. If so you will need the same size tire as what is on the truck for a spare as a different size will eat up your rear with the above mentioned.

Not for me. Just know a guy who needs 1 to make a set. I wouldn't go near one.

Just need to remove caps and rotate at that point.

Re: Spare Tire Size?

When I was in CA,my friend had a`57 shortbed that was 8-lug with 15" split rims, original.Just thought I`d throw that in on the split rim talk. That`s a rare bird, either way. What is the vehicle this rim is for?
