Re: New member says HEY & its O.K. 2B OCHRE
Sweet ride I must say. I would like to know what was involved in cutting the bed cover and a pic of the front of it where you cut it if you would be so kind. Ever go to the show they have a Cartersville the 1st Sat every month?

Re: New member says HEY & its O.K. 2B OCHRE
Thanks again for all the welcome's and feedback..........
As far as cutting the lid >>>>>>GAYLORDS did it to my specs !! They stock lids for Pick-ups of this generation and they offer a little known option called "tool box " lids , which are shortened to the customers specs !!! Then Gaylords reinforces the lid depending on if you want to mount it on a "custom crossmember" like I did OR using scissor hinges they call "X2000" and mount to the "bed sides". I chose not to mount it on the bedsides so that the decorative side panels did not have to be modified. In the fall/winter , I put the fullsize hardtop back on and its hard to notice any internal mods have been done to accept the lid.....(pic attached) AS FAR the TREMEC 5 spd and HIWAY-CRUISING >>>>>>how about 70-75mph and tach reads 1800 to 2000rpm The rear end is the original 305.........soon to be swapped out for a 371 posi !! |

Re: New member says HEY & its O.K. 2B OCHRE
OH, i forgot to mention ...when GAYLORDS cuts the aprx. 18-20" off the front of their stock lid HAVE THEM SAVE IT FOR YOU to use as a filler panel behind the seats !!!
You see the "mini-soft-top" pics above have that panel out to allow room to mount the top if it rains PS. That CARTERSVILLE cruise is something I've wanted to check out for a while.............I have been going to YEAR ONE's cruises in Brasleton and thats about it....so far this year. |

Wow, guess that beats the heck out of my 69 K20 - at 60 mph it is roaring at about 2500 - 2750 rpm

The Cartersville cruise was awesome the last time I went. I'm going to try to hit it again this year but July wont be the one for me. Canton is also very impressive on the 3rd Saturday.

Re: New member says HEY & its O.K. 2B OCHRE
I have a 72 Jimmy with the hard top, I want to be able to have both a hard and soft top. How does your soft top connect above the windshield. The soft top kits I have seen require screwing snaps to the top of your windshield frame, which I suspect would interfere with putting the hard top back on.
Am I missing something obvious? |

I met you in Maggie also, nice blazer. Really wished you would have driven that one, but I understand the need to sell the 4x4.

Welcome to the site. I met you in Maggie Valley and at the Atlanta SuperChevy. Glad you joined up. I may be the only one on the site that has seen your blazer in person.
