removing mirrors

has anyone removed their mirrors? dose it make that big of a difference in view? what does it look like?

my mirrors were shaved off when I got my truck. The po put peepers on it. I guess it makes it leagal but as far as being of any use they stink !!

a buddy of mine has a 74 and he took his off, i dont think its illegal but idk.
all mine do is vibrate and move down at highway speed its kind of annoying
