Buying another one!

Went and looked at another pickup last night.

This guy actually had 2 for sale, but I only need one.

I'll be picking a 72 3/4 Ton Chevy next weekend. I'll just be using the cab, as it's not in too bad of shape, and much better than the 68 cab that I already have.

It's got a 350 in it, with cut valve covers (to adjust valves) and no air cleaner, and no battery. So I'll be getting a cheap "dress up kit" and throw the valve covers and air cleaner on, put a battery in it and hopefully be able to drive it home. Otherwise I'll go get a uhaul trailer to get it home.

One thing that was news to me. It has coil springs on it. I guess I just assumed that all of the 3/4 tons had leaf springs.

I figure when I pull off the cab I'll give the engine/tranny, front suspension a good cleaning, plop the 68 cab on there and make sure everything is working good and sell it.

Re: Buying another one!

coils were standard in all years of CHEVY trucks 10 and 20 series in the 67 - 72 years. The only model that did not follow that rule was the Longhorn in C/20 designation, it could only be had with leafs as it was on a one ton frame.
