Intros: Me and My 77 Bonanza
Well right on, Names Justin, I'm know as Ray, and this is my 1977 I recently picked up from Travis555 on the Forum.
Currently going to Wyotech in Laramie in the Streetrod program. Plan on doing a body resto to it, but not sure what else to do. Gonna throw in a "1800 Interor" (Production and OEM from Websites catalogs). Givin it some TLC now: Speedo's not working, Gas guage, fuel tank selector and bypass. Turn signals, and Tranny line leak. Took it to a specialty shop for the turn signals and a once over. I did everything else with a friend of mine. Comments, questions, insults, debaucheries? (??) J-Ray |

Re: Intros: Me and My 77 Bonanza
Welcome to the board -----
hmmmm - comments, suggestions ---------- keep it a 3/4 ton, with a restored body (2 tone, all the chrome, etc.) and a restored stock style interior, but find some 20" 8 lug wheels and personalize it a little as you see fit -- clean up the engine bay and lose the fog lamps. If you went back to a Rams Horn type exhaust manifolds next time you did the exhaust, you wouldn't have to worry about exhaust leaks. my personal opinion is that the steering column on trucks from this era is about 2.5" too long, so that was one of the things i changed on mine too. I had to sit board straight to drive it and it really got old. But first, do everything you need to do to ensure you don't need that survival kit anymore you are carrying around in the bed Oh, and as far as debaucheries, well.......... that bed floor is reasonably clean, but still not clean enough for the girls i know--- good luck man Last edited by streetstar; 07-22-2007 at 11:04 AM. |

Re: Intros: Me and My 77 Bonanza
Right on, thanks for the warm welcomes!
oh and I'm from Wisconsin before Wyoming, and Florida and North Carolina before then. To be honest Streetstar, you hit the nail on the head, thats exactly what I Want to plan on doing to it. But how about some of those front bumpers with light built in 'em, not fog lamps persay... something to dress it up a little, and it gets rid of the blocky ones strapped to the bumper, just an idea, everybody gets into their own thing... Plan on starting it in a couple weeks, working under the gun doing some electrical on those turn signals, not figuring it out, otherwise it needs a speedo cable and i fixed the tranny lines. I might want to take off the valve bodies and put in new seals, it just might stop my motor from burnin oil. Any more suggestions? comments? insults? |
