Flywheel Cover Question

I have a 1980 Chevy K10 with the factory 350. I just pulled the motor and put in a newer one. The motor i got was complete out of a 1983 2wd C10, I saw it run. That guy built it from a 1993 Caprice block (probably has that flywheel also). Is the flywheel cover or "flywheel (other than bolt pattern)" any different from a 80 K10 to a 83 C10? Everything is bolted up tight but I can't get the flywheel cover to bolt up right!!! Does it go between the oil pan and the wheel? The rear left and right bolts on the oil pan are studs and my old one were bolts. Confused.. Thanks
