Question Confused as heck

Been reading alot on the boards and learned a ton so far but have some stupid questions I want to ask as these are totally different than any MG I've ever toyed with.

I have a 292 I6 with a 465 trans and 205 transfer case with a 12 bolt rear end.

The questions are:

What is the main difference between the 12 bolt and 10 bolt and which is more desirable?

Slick 50 type products in engine and trans I know if I added it to my MGB it would end up on the ground.

What was the gearing ratio from the factory in the standard 12 bolt rear?

Sorry for all the questions but starting to go crazy trying to figure this thing out

Re: Confused as heck

slick 50 is junk no matter where you stick it. Chevy, ford, MG, the only place it is any good, is in the trash can.

Re: Confused as heck

12 bolt is stronger and heavier than a 10 bolt, but weak and light compared to a 14 bolt, kind of up to you which you desire.

Some ideas to find your gear ratio are here

Put new seals on the 205 before you put any really expensive fluid in there.
