*scratches head*
http://www.azspeed.com/truck-3.html
Those have to be the funkiest headers I've ever seen short of the snake pits from Ferrari V12s and the GT40... I wonder, are there any headers like that for our trucks that fit better? Hehe...or does that really make much of a difference compared to regular headers? ------------------ Project 1970 - soon to be seen at http://milhouse.treylis.org:81/

I don't see the "tri-y".....they look like "equal length" headers to me (they're for a newer truck too").

I think before I went with a snake pit like those I would check out some of he shorty headers for street rods.I think the appearance of the shorty's would make up for the power loss over the way those look.

these are indeed equal length headers, and the premise is to have all the tubes the same length to evenly scavenge exhaust gases. this makes for a increased torque, smoother power band, and more horses.

But, for the love of god, must they be routed so strangely? I've looked under the hood of many a '96-'99 GM pickup / SUV, especially that of my mom's '97 Suburban, and I honestly think they don't need to be routed quite like THAT...

I for one prefer my header tubes to fall down out of the way. I also like to keep as straight a run on the tubes as possible.

The equal length bundle of snakes style headers do increase horsepower/torque, but at a specific place in the rpm range. you would have a noticeable powerband unless you carefully tuned it to stretch your peak. To make more torque across the board, you want unequal length headers.
