Transmission help please!>!

Last night I was driving and leaving lowes and my truck shifted from 2nd to 3rd and made a horrible sound and I hit the gas to go and my motor just reved up and I couldnt go anywhere, then I put it back down in 2nd and it was fine. I took it straight home and looked under it and didnt see any thing that stood out, I am putting in my shop tonight to take a closer look at it.

My tranny is a TH-350 and is brand new, not even 3000 miles on it. My TC is a 2200 stall B&M.

Any ideas?

doesnt sound good sounds as if you need warrenty work done on tranny

Were you manually shifting the transmission. If so, is it possible that you caught the transmission in between gears (2nd and 3rd) when shifting? I know from experience, I had this happen to me and broke the sprag in the TH350. Irregardless, you should take the tranny to a good a reputable shop for a check.

Yes topnos I was shifting it manaully 2nd to 3rd last night, I had my foot in it a little bit, but it was not floored, when it shifted I got a good scratch and then the sound came, that sux, freakin brand new tranny...

could be the sprag. Usually you won't have 2nd gear, but 1st and 3rd will be fine. Mine tend to come out in 3-10 pieces

Ya I just called my tranny shop, he said usually the sprags break in 2nd not 3rd. Sounds like something just broke loose in the tranny and is rattling around...

see if when hes redoing it if for not much more money if you can get heavier duty guts to replace whatever failed,if its not much more it might be worth it
