Harmonic Balancer Question

How far back does the balancer have to go on the crank? Reason I ask is that when I installed my new balancer I noticed that the power steering pulley is off a little. I dont remember it being off before but I may not have noticed it.

Thanks

Re: Harmonic Balancer Question

I just finished putting my H-balancer back on the other day for my 350/350. I measured before I took it off and measured again when I put it back on. It came out to be exactly 1 inch if measured from the center of the H-balancer.

Re: Harmonic Balancer Question

Ok I type tped this wrong. I found the problem. The old balancer had a 1/8 inch lip on the front of it. This new balancer does not have it. I measured the belts and they are just about 1/8th of an inch off. Looks like its time to pull another balancer Im getting good at this stuff LOL
