I saw on TV this morning ("muscle car" I think) they had to run fuel lines and they used a teflon coated rubber hose.

OK - 1st some of you need to chill before a mod pulls the plug.
Second - "rubber" fuel lines have changed a great deal over the last 20 years. NHRA used to mandate no more than 12" of rubber fuel line for any competiton car. The rest had to be stainless steel bradflex or hard lines. Two hazards caused this to be an issue. If you throw a rod, crash, roll over etc into a rubber line it is far easier to cut than a metal line. Second if you have a fire the metal covered lines do a better job of not failing. All that being said Edelbrock does sell a flex hose kit for pump to carb. The new hoses are far superior to the old ones. If it was mine I would plumb as much in hard line as I could and than run braidflex (it insulates the engine heat better than metal) in the engine compartment. I think it looks better and will last longer than rubber hose.
