New 6 lug Wheels W Pics
I Know everyone likes new wheels, I put them on today just to see what they would look like. They are coming back off while I finish up the bodywork, but I did want to see what they look like.. so here it is.
They are Boyd Coddington Smoothie ll's, I ordered them with 4in back spacing and they were nice enough to completely disregard that and send wheels with 4.5 backspacing. Turns out they can't be made under 4.5 backspacing due to the center hump and air filler hole, the air filler is behind the spokes, kind of cool really. You can see it in the close up pictures. Anyway, they gave them to me for a trial fit due to the backspacing and I have the option of returning them. Turns out they are a pretty good fit. I can't put the bed on the truck to check the back, but after I did some figurin I think it will work out just fine. I need to find some lug nuts as the one’s I have are to big to get a socket around as the hole in the wheel isn’t large, that is why they are only on there with 3 lugs just incase someone notices that. Here is the stat’s since I’m sure everyone is going to want to know. Front 17x8, 4.5 in backspacing, 275/50/17 Back 17x10, 4.5 in backspacing 285/60/17 Anyway, let me know what you think!

Re: New 6 lug Wheels W Pics
Those are really nice! I really like that they are deep dish looking compared to the inset back spacing you normally see with those style wheels.
You did very good in your choice!

Thanks. |

Re: New 6 lug Wheels W Pics
I dont' mind a bit. I got the wheels and tires for around $1800 and change which included tax mounting and balancing. I had to pay tax as I ordered them from Discount Tire Direct and they are local. Wanted someone local incase there was a problem I so I could resolve it in person since it's a fairly large purchase. It would have been about 1700 without the tax if I lived anywhere other than AZ. Anyway, PM me and I will give you the contact info of the guy at Discount, he is a cool guy and easy to work with.
BTW thanks to everyone for all the input! I really like the wheels and I'm very happy with the purchase. Now I just need to get it together so I can actually drive it as I have only driven it down the block and back once (and pulled it into the street so I can turn it around in garage). Go figure, I buy a project truck that doesn't run, tear it apart and I have never even driven a C10 much less driven the one I own!
