the muffler on my 78 van has basically disentegrated and i need a quick cheap fix. ive seen 2.5 in glasspacks at the parts store and they are about 20 dollars. how do you think that it will sound. anything is better than what ive got.

Re: how loud is a single glasspack?

What about a single "Turbo" style muffler should be around $20 as well. Check some parts stores you'd be surprised @ thier muffler prices. Just get the inlet outlet sizes and bring them down - they should be able to look up a similar application for you.

Edit: I just looked up a muffler for a '78 G10 Chevy Van on www.autozone.com and it was $29

Most of the generic turbos are about $20.00 Glasspacks are a little loud. Big long glasspacks are pretty quiet until you mash it.
