Electric Brake Controller Opinions
Hey guys
I have a 86 K10, 350HD, TH400, 3.08 open diff I recently purchased a open top car trailer, to tow my 87 T-top Stang. The trailer has brakes on one axle. The trailer, with car will weight around 7000-8000lbs. I will probably only be towing 5-7 times a year max. I will be adding a trans cooler of course, but I am in the market for a brake controller. Does anyone have any good/bad experience with a specific make, or model?. What should I be looking for?.... Thanks Duro

Re: Electric Brake Controller Opinions
Can't help you with the brake controller, but I can recommend the Tru-Cool 4590 transmission cooler. It's 1.5 inches thick which is more than any other cooler I've seen.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LONG-...QQcmdZViewItem Gonna install it on my truck tomorrow. Don't know if it fits the 80's truck but my measurements tell me it will fit my 77. |

Re: Electric Brake Controller Opinions
Well I talked it over with a bunch of guys who tow car trailers all day, and they all agreed the Valley Industries Oddessy is a nice unit, so that what I have ordered. It's right up there with the Tekonsha Prodigy
Thanks for all your input Duro

Re: Electric Brake Controller Opinions
Just make sure you get a wiring kit or if you do it your self use at least 12G wire and a circuit braker.
You can buy all the stuff to wire it up your self alot cheaper than what they want for the kit. |

Re: Electric Brake Controller Opinions
I'll be going with 10ga blue wire to the trailer connector, and 10ga black from the battery. These are the same colours as on the controller. It says minumim 12ga, but I figure for the few extra$$ i'll go 10
