need advise on project"knuckle buster"
ive decided to make a really low budget old school rat rod out of my 72 gmc
im gonna do a really cheep drop, cutting the front coils, and flipping the rear axle. this truck wont be on the road much at all so the rides not to important. im gonna paint it flat black with some shop logos on the doors, and gonna gloss red wheels w/ white walls. now my questions arize. do i have to do a c- knotch to do an axle flip? would a red dash and interior look ok for the old school look? chrome or white lugnuts? keep in mind everything im doing to this truck is true rat rod, junk yard parts, and i dont want a good look just ratty. i just want it to look cool from 10 feet away. so any picts or ideas would help. my intentions are to do this truck for under $1000. the truck runs and drives now and is solidso body works ok, i can get a galon of flat black for $25 and ill shoot it myslef, and im gonna make or get alot of junk yard parts. |

I am a huge fan of doing all the metal inside the truck the same color as the interior esp black exterior with red interior! Go for it... I am building a shop truck myself and want to color match the interior steel.. keep the pics coming!

Re: need advise on project"knuckle buster"
on the axle flip.........no i didnt have to do my 72 ,although i am doing it now. had about 3 inches clearance from the axle to the frame.... it droped it 7 inches total in the rear
yeah red interior would be ok IMO thats what i done on my 67 and ya gotta go chrome on the lug nuts..........just my .02... EDIT: i got my whole drop kit from G.M.C Paul s. ........droped coils are not that much cash....... i think Paul use to sell a complete kit for way less than you are wanting to spend. check him out Last edited by bad6772; 08-22-2007 at 08:21 PM.
