My water temp pointer is gone!!! Help

I noticed the other morning on my way to work that my temp guage wasn;t working, you cannot even see the pointer. I tried grounding it and it did nothing. I guess the best thing to do is pull the cluster and look for a broke circuit?
Thanks

Thats what happens after you run your truck 0-100+ in under 5 sec lol. Sorry had to say that. I would still think a ground for it to be that far over.

Re: My water temp pointer is gone!!! Help

I think he's saying the pointer fell off,in which case I'd retrieve it and put it back on. If it's still on then he needs to check the wiring/sender.

Re: My water temp pointer is gone!!! Help

The wire from the sending unit to the gauge of my truck shorted intermittently and the needle of the gauge would flop back and forth with the contact with ground or lack of it. When it grounded, I seem to remember that it moved all the way to the right side of the gauge.
