Serpentine with factory Steering gear
Converting to serpentine system with the late model power steering pump but retaining my stock gear. Will the fittings be different?
Can anyone point me in the right direction for hoses/fitting adapters? Thanks

I assume you are talking about the serpentine setup from GMPP or off of a 90's camaro, right? I believe they are different. BUT, you can unscrew the fitting from the back of your existing pump and screw it in to the new pump. Then you can use the stock pressure hose.

I switched my 67 over to a factory serpentine system, and all i had to do was use my stock metal line on the gear and find the stock style fitting and line coming from the pump(Its off of a 90s model pickup)and take it to a shop that makes hoses and have them put them together with some hose. turned out real well on mine, shouldnt be very expensive either.

I had problems with my "old" style hose running into the frame so i went this route.

Thanks for the info Chevelle. On another note, is that the air conditioning compressor on the driver's side? My other dilemma is figuring out what alternator to us with the serpentine system.

Use one of the newer CS style alts, whichever one fits the serp bracket you have (there are different size mountings).

I have a cs130 from my serpentine setup for sale that will work. It works fine, had it on for awhile, upgraded to a powermaster side post, big stereo, electric fans needed some more juice.
