Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

You want to sell the truck over that???? How much do you want for it? Man, people would KILL for a truck with a teeny bit of corrosion in the usual spot.

I will have body guy come over and look it over. For $1400 I was hoping for no rust. Ohh well.

Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

Dude, seriously, you don't need a body guy for that. Let him look at it but you can replace that inner fender yourself in 30-45 minutes (maybe faster if the bolts aren't rusted up) If it were mine I would weld up the pin holes, blast it and be very happy...

For $1,400 I would expect big rust in the area I'm from. You got a great deal on that truck.

Pont, we're not picking on you, just want you to know that the truck you have is better than 90% of the trucks we usually see, and you got a heck of a deal on it.

Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

90%???? I would say 95% if that is all the rust on the truck honestly.
And for 1400 bones.... that sounds like the deal of the century.
Put the engine back in, ship that truck over here, I'll wax it and put it in my front yard, I'll even put bright red arrows pointing towards the rust, and we can split the 10 grand 50/50.

Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

Well I picked up my 2wd Blazer less a motor and paid $1500 with some holes through the rear quarters, I almost didn't buy it but it is A 2wd BLAZER!! Your very nice original loaded truck for $1400 should have cost you at least $2800 so replace the inner fender and get on with the motor install. BUT if you are deadset on selling it I'll give $700 for it and you can keep the poncho and I'll come pick it up. PM me if you want it gone.

Yeah, that truck could fetch anywhere from $2500 to $5000 here.

Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

lol....i showed that to lulu (the truck)....she laughed so hard that about 10 pounds of rust fell out from under her.

lol....brother, you got a great truck, don't sweat it. these trucks have been around too many decades to be flawless. the only flawless trucks you'll find have 30 grand or more in them and that's 'cus there isn't an original peice of metal on them.

Re: rust, should I sell the truck?

Thank you for encoragement guys. I called PO and he said that the truck spend 2 years in Hawaii during service. Maybe thats were it picked up some rust. My body guy looked at it and didnt find any more rust or repairs. He did show me that left rocker has some surface rust. After closer inspection most of that brown stuff is from blown heater hoses or radiator.
I will continue working on it. Here are some pics.

tell ya what man. I'll give you $1500 for it if that's the only rust you can find....

I'll even kick in $25 so you can be a registered member and sell me the truck w/o upsetting the forums gods.

You can even keep the drive train that you pulled from it.
