painting interior parts???

Ok my GMC has blue interior and to me it doesnt fit with how i'm doing the truck so i want to switch it to either black or grey. My question is my dash pad is in perfect shape so would it make since for me to just get a can of that duplicolor interior paint and just paint it. If so has anyone used this paint on a dash pad and how well did it work. i've only used it on hard plastic and it held up very well. Thanks for any info and suggestions

ive always found that krylon fusion spray paint works the best on rubber/plasic parts without flaking

I can't remember what the brand is, but I did my dash pad back in 2000, and other than a couple small chops (from packing the cab FULL of crap) it still looks great. I did black, over the med blue.
The headliner still looks perfect, but the door panles live a harder life and don't look too good at all.

I just did the dash pad on my truck. I used the matte black and it turned out great. However when I painted the vinyl door panels gloss red they turned out very splotchy. I will just have to reupholster those in red vinyl. I think the gloss colors are harder t o use and not get them splotchy. I used the vinyl dye in a can.

Just make sure that you do a really good job prepping the surface, ie using a good degreaser on the surface before painting it.

When i painted the hard plastic with before i used rubbing alcohol and wiped everything down. it worked really good for removing all the old armoral(sp).
