It looks like a alot of members here like Monroe Sensa Tracs. My dad has KYB GR-2's on his lowered 70' and it has a really nice ride. I called KYB yesterday and they recommended the Gas Adjust for a lowered truck for more control when the shock needs to rebound. I then called Early Classic Enterprise and Terry said he likes the GR-2's better than the Gas Adjusts because they are softer. So has anybody used the KYB Gas Adjust????

I've got the GR-2's on my truck and I don't notice any diffence from the monroe's I had - they were cheap ~$15 each monroes - I don't know what model. I've had gas-a-justs on other cars and they were to harsh for my taste. I was under the impression that the gas adjusts were more for performance applications - like for track use.

I had a set of KYB's on a 97 Chevy 1/2 ton, they seem to be stiffer than the sensa tracs my dad has on a 98 GMC 1/2 ton. My opinion is the KYB's help handle better and are a little more $$$, the Monroe's ride better and are cheaper.

I have KYB Gas-A-Justs on my K20 and my Grand Cherokee. They seem like a very good shock for the money, with decent rebound control. They are somewhat firm when first installed, but seem to go through a break-in period and then become quite comfortable. I would rate them not as a top-end high dollar shock, but rather as a better-than-stock replacement that I would buy again.

Years ago I had the big fat Monroe Gas Magnums on the K20, but they got very soft and mushy before too long. I also had some Sears shocks on an Astro van we used to own, but only for a few days -- they floated like crazy.

I have them all around on my stock height C10.
They are a little stiff. But - they do rebound over a bump (don't beat the crap out of you) yet still don't float up and down like a 60's Caprice, you know what I mean.

I am running the KYB Gas-Adjust on my 3.5/5 drop and they are very firm on bumps but the truck corners great. I also have rear leafs, so that may contribute to my firm ride as well. Overall, I am happy with them. It would be nice if they softened a bit after I get some miles on them (only about 1000 so far).

KYB tech told me to go with the Gas Adjust but Early Classic Enterprises said the GR-2 would be better. My dad has the GR-2's and they ride nice with his 3" drop.

Generally Gas a just's (white) are quite noticably stiffer than stock while GR2's (Grey) are a stock equivalent.
Warranty replacement is easy if they go bad.
I wouldn't put Gas a just's on the back of a light truck that always runs unloaded unless you are looking to stiffen it up.
I have had them on a bunch of cars, and generally feel they're a good buy.

I'm running the Gas-a-just's #5409 and tried the GR2's previously. I felt like the GR2's were too soft for my lowered truck and it seemed like they went dead within a year or two of using them. I've had the former on for around 5 years and they still seem very active.

KYB told me that GR-2's are 10-15% firmer than stock shocks and Gas Adjust are 20-30% firmer than stock and that on a lowered vehicle to go with gas Adjust. They said either will come with a lifetime warranty.

Brad- you running Gas Adjust on all 4 corners???. I don't use the truck to haul with so I was thinking maybe trying GR-2's on the rear only.

Those are Gas Adjust for rears with coil springs.

Yes and yes on fitment!

If your truck is not lowered I would go with a softer shock like the GR-2.

AH HA. Thanks again. I will save them for the 72swb as it will definately have a drop orig only 2" but I am thinking more now. The 69lwb is running 31x10.5x15 and is all sotck height. Gracias.

I have them on all 4 corners and like them. One issue: after bagging it the rear bags put too much extension pressure on the shocks when fully aired up and one shock has started to leak

. I've contacted KYB about a recommendation for a longer stroke shock.
