Another cowl leaf stopper...a quick and easy one (pics)
After reading the last thread by Frizzle Fry and after trying several methods in the past including some that were mentioned in the thread, I came up with the easiest way yet. Took me all of 30 minutes. That's removing cowl and fitting the material.
I got the Gutter Guard from Lowes for a few dollars and it will cover the cowl area exactly. It's soft and pliable and will not scratch your paint and the cowl itself will keep it in place. There's enough in one roll to do several so if you screw up you can do it again. All you need is a pair of scissors to cut a small hole where the wiper arms go. No need to cut any thing else. |

Great idea! Thanks for the tip.I need to install some on my trucks and blazer.I left the truck out one night and it already had leaves and pine needles in the cowl area.

that's great, you could also paint it to match your truck or maybe silver to look like chrome

I tried the metal meshes and screens in the past, but haven't been satisfied with results. Since I just wanted something to keep the leaves out of the cowl area, this was quick, easy and rust free. |
