Autozones Q-jet
has anyone ever bought one of Autozones rebuilt q-jets?...or known anybody who has?.....they are only about $120 and are like guaranteed for a year.....just thought about buying one,thanks

Most discount rebuilder wont rebush the throttle shafts which is generally why they needed a rebuild in the first place. They change the gaskets, set the float, make them pretty and thats about it. It might last a year.

i bought a Holley re-man from O'reilly's for my '84 C-10. the throttle shafts were tight, no vaccum leaks, (sprayed down shafts with WD-40) looks very nice, and runs very well. have had good luck so far, with 350/700R4 and a 2.73 gear i am getting 16-17 MPG. the cost was $280, but mine has electric choke, am sure the ones for 67-72 with divorced style choke will be cheaper.

Hey Mike welcome to the board from a Wolfe City native. I shopped for one a couple years ago, at O'Reilly and Advance (didn't bother with AZ b/c this required the parts guy to do something that was not routine). I asked for one for my application and they gave me a price around $180. So knowing that pretty much any q-jet would do the trick, I asked the parts guy to show some prices for other q-jets for other years on 350s. He somehow came up with a list of all the q-jets that might work and I picked the cheapest one (~$120). And it's still going.
I just looked for the cheapest one with the right choke config., enough vacuum ports, and a power brake fitting in the back (if you even need that.) Oh, and don't expect two rebuilt q-jets with the same model number to look the same. They will take completely different carb "frames" (?) and as long as they jetted them the same, they'll call them the same model. Good luck.

GMCBLU.....i know exactally where wolfe city is.....i called o'reilly but i cant remember what they told me and how much it was...but i dont think it was new,im pretty sure it was rebuilt....i just hate to spend $275 to $350 for a new one

i tried one once and it leaked, so i swaped it for another, it worked good for a month or two. i worked there at the time and would not reccomend them for reliability,good performance though. i dont reccomend any of their electrical parts either. JMHO
