Stock A/C and serpentine system?

Hi guys! Making good progress on my 72 K20 build http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=239487
and now it's time to start thinking about the A/C. It came with the full complete stock system. Now that I have switched to serpentine, I obviously cannot use the old compressor.

I know I need a pancake one, but after doing some looking, there are lots of options. So...which one do I need? Can a new pancake compressor mate up and work with the old system?

If not, what are my other options?

The "pancake" compressor will work (sorry don't know which one), however you will have to have some custom hose's built. When I worked at my first job, the owner had an a/c hose tool to make them. You probably can find some old independent shop that has one. My old boss would probably have made you them for free just to use the tool (he was very proud of it). I personally would convert the A/C to R-134A (cheaper freon, and more availability).

Thanks for the info. What makes the hoses so special? There are no hose coupler adapters available?

The hose ends would be different were they go into the compressor, unless you have a newer compressor on it originally. I am not sure if they make couplers, but I would rather have some made, they would look better and probably would not cost very much to have made.

go to www.oldairproducts .com they have a ton of hoses and you can get them in any configuration. hope this helps. You may have to do a google search to find the correct address if tat one dont work.
