shop floor coatings

Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with any types of floor coatings. one stage, two stage any thoughts out there? Will be sealing a floor shortly and need all the help I can muster. This will be a high traffic area and I will need something that will stand up to it...............................TIA..Joe

I'll be using the same stuff at home as we use at the shop--a 2 part epoxy. Holds up real good at the shop. Don't have the brand name at the moment

I agree with the Rustoleum product it is a good product for the price. Plan on 2 coats for the best coverage. I have done 2 garage floors with this and they turned out great. Too bad neither was mine

I used Sherwin-Williams concrete paint after etching the slab. My choice would have been the expoxy, if I could have afforded it. My slab is 30x60, did not leave much for the extras. The concrete floor paint has held up well, but can not handle fuel spills, and tire marks easily.

I've read through a few other posts on this web, as well as the garage journal form, and the majority of the votes go for the epoxy. That is what I plan on using in our garage when the time comes.

Keep us posted, would love to see the end result.

25 years in the concrete business and this is the best stuff I've found for garage floors.

This stuff, or different brand names, is what you see on the floors of the big boxes, like Home Depot or Sam's club. It becomes part of the concrete so there is nothing to peel up and flake off. No dust, no fluid penetration, I've spilled everything from used oil to brake fluid on mine and it just wipes up, and no stain.

25 years! whats your opinion on pouring concrete , should you lay down plastic
1st if you plan on sealing or painting the floor ? my garage gets damp looking after heavy rains , also the last garage I built I told the concrete contractor
I wanted to coat the floor and he said "you should have told me that 1st and we would have laid down plastic.On my current shop project my tractor guy
came up with a good idea (IMO) he said "add layers of crushed rock as a moisture drain under the slab 1st and you wont need to add a layer of plastic"
what would you suggest ? thanks!
