8 lug conversion
Hi all, I have a 72 longbed and want to change my stud pattern to 6 lug from 8 lug. I have bought new drop axles for the front that will run C10 rotors. For the rear I am unsure of which way to go. I think I have a Dana 60 FF. I think it will be best for me to identify this first. I was thinking of either getting 2 axles made or change the hubs to 6 lug hubs. Has anyone done this before. Any help please.

some of the 72 had d60 in the back . But you wold be better off getting a 12b 6 lug rear or a 14blt 6 lug but there hard to find here let alone in Australia so the 12blt is your best bet.. I was in your kneck of the wood one time spent 3 month in Amberly i think that what the tome was called on an air base there.or it was when I was at a navy base but im not sure. on the weekend I would take a train to Brisbane or Sidney even went to serfers pairedice once.

I will take some pics of this diff as it is out of the truck atm and I have a 9" in it. I am not sure where Amberly is, but surfers paradise is very nice. thanks for the replys

Glad I could help. If you get that convertion kit take lots of pics Ive never seen one used before. It looks like its a high quality kit.

No I dont there was a write up on it in one of the 4x4 mags one time but I canrt remeber were. Ill see if I can find it.

dont know if you got a hold of them but they called me back today. it is $1450 for the kit but it comes with a disk break convertion you have to use disks with it. He said he would ship it to to you no problem.

That’s what I was thinking all new hubs and every thing for disk breaks. Let me know if you decide to buy the kit and need me to call him for you or any thing.

Thanks earl, i just got a truck 9 inch and not sure if ill use it. its already 5x5 and 31 spline axles. I'll be saving the 1450, and id prob spend that on a good locker center. what do you think? I also want to bag this thing so the extra cash helps too.

I would think for 1450 you could build that 9 up. you could upgrade the axles and put a locker in it and have cash left over.
