new project
hey guys just picked up a new project this weekend.after many years of searchin for a 67-72 pickup ive found one.its a 1972 c10 2wd lwb 6cyl. 4spd.it was a one owner truck bought at my small town local chevy dealer in 1972. i have original pink and build sheet.orignal temporary registration and everything.i have a shortbed 67 trailer i got from my buddies grandpa so thats definetly in the works.my plans are a to z it notch it link it shorten it for the short bed and reasemble goin through everything as i rebuild.i have a few questions for you guys before i begin.
1. what exactly does it take to get this thing to lay completly,(rockers as close to ground as possible)just a z?or whats up with the crossmember notch?why is it necisary? 2.my truck is leaf and the trailer im gettin the bed from is coil.if i wanted to go with coils can that setup lay completly?and if so would i be better off shortening my frame and adding the crossmember and link arms from the trailer?or weld on the complete rear end from the trailer?the trailer starts right before the trailing arm crossmember. thanks for any help robert Last edited by rgreathouse; 10-16-2007 at 03:07 AM. |

Re: new project
Well come to the site. Most guys that want to lay frame z the back and use a drop cross meber. I would check out the suspention forum there are a lot of guys with bagged trucks in there and they will be able to tell you exactly what you need.
