Coolant Jugs?

I know this has been kicked around here for some time. I had a question on the mounting. Most vehicles I've seen have the coolant jug mounted up high & close to the radiator. Could I mount one low and away out of site? I have the proper cap. I going to have the jug, but just looking rules & reasons for mounting.
