Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
In 37 years a lot can happen.
Maybe the column was swapped out. Maybe the brake pedal assembly was swapped out. Maybe it was just a dream. Have you gone out and checked again?

Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
IIRC automatic trucks had a spacer in place of the clutch pedal. maybe someone was doing work in there and lost the spacer so they grabbed a clutch pedal and threw it in there.

Well, the interior is an ugly green color, and the colum is the same faded color, and theres no signs of the colum ever being pulled out.

Somebody pinch me, I need to wake up. Your truck may have been built on a Friday when the guys were in a hurry to go get a cold one after work. "No body will notice that extra pedal, cover it with the floor mat and lets get that cold beer"

Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
Simmer down man. Either the column was changed to an automatic or someone added the pedal assembly thinking they were going to add a standard trans to it. Look at your glove box decal and see if it mentions an automatic trans. Is the bracket (for the z-bar) still on the frame where the z-bar would connect to the frame and the ball on the engine block?

Not to be rude, but are you sure you're not looking at the e-brake pedal.

Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
I had a bud who bought an early 70s vette and had owned it for months before he realized it had a clutch pedal hanging below the dash. It had been pushed all the way down and had the floor mat laid over it. The funny thing is that if you pulled up the pedal the car wouldn't crank!

Is there anything else in the truck you haven't noticed before?

Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
I had a 72 that had the clutch pedal pushed all the way up under the dash like that. I didn't know it for a few weeks. I knew it had been converted from manual to auto when I bought it though.

Next time you "go down" there, see if there are two peddles and a fuse box.

How the bleep didn't you notice the extra pedal? I still find it quite comical to see somebody jam on the clutch pedal that is connected to nothing and get that look on their face like they just broke something.
