Re: who makes the best aftermarket fenders?
I can't say about 67-72 fenders, but I just bought a 73-87 style fender. It was a Goodmark and it is very well made.

Re: who makes the best aftermarket fenders?
well mine are dynacorn from mothertruckers, i have not fit them yet but the look great, i done alot a reserch on this and it seems to me that all the repops are comeing from the same supplier just a mater of the trip on the boat over here some co like goodmark get the best of the bunch but i cant complain about mine there perfect and im almost positive that goodmarks are dinacorns too. just be shure you get zink impregnated ones that have the primer already. i got a cab corner from jc whitney about 8 years ago its a tristar and its bare metal...

Re: who makes the best aftermarket fenders?
thanks for the info. but i have been told that they don't fit very well, even goodmark put a disclaimer under the 69-72 truck fenders on there web site saying "for quality fit metal work will be required" did not used to be there just makes me nervous when even the company is telling you the are not going to fit right.

Re: who makes the best aftermarket fenders?
I bought goodmarks.. I had to lay mine on the ground and stand on the center of the rear lip to make it fit the door properly.. plus there was some body work required to make them straight..

Re: who makes the best aftermarket fenders?
Mine are Tri-Plus fenders I bought through Goodmark. They will need some massaging but overall fit well. You will need to enlarge most mounting holes for more adjustability. I used to say there doors were good, but a year and a half later, I'm going to say stay away from them. Waaaay too damn flimsy.

Re: who makes the best aftermarket fenders?
I am doing a frame up this month on my 70 and the fender I purchased from GMC PAULS is fitting better than the NOS fender I bought from Chevy 20 years ago that I just took out of the box last week. My feelings on the subject is everyone of them will be a bit different. I have some very / very nice original fenders from a 70 cst if you need them. JOHN

Re: who makes the best aftermarket fenders?
I have a question, did anyone have to fix the area behind the fender where the "middle" body line is? The fenders I bought, both the bends in that area needed some work as they weren't very smooth on the transition to the grill. They probably would have been okay if I was going to run a bumper, but I'm installing a roll pan and I needed to fix mine. I don't know if this applies to the 69-72 fenders as the grill is different.
Redneck, hope you don't mine me liftin the picture of your truck.

Re: who makes the best aftermarket fenders?
You need to remember that 40 years ago the fit and finish of any vehicle was less precise than it is today. Then 40 years of road bouncing, twisting and general rough service and it's a wonder you have anything to fit to.So I would be more suprised if they did fit without metalwork. The original fenders were "lined-up" with shims and even from the factory they were nowhere near perfect. If you look at an unmolested original truck that has seen normal service the body will probably look like it needs lots of shimming and metalwork.Just some thoughts on why some think the repops suck, though I don't feel they are as stout as the originals.
