WTB Lock set for a burb
I am needing a complete lock set for my 72 burb... both front doors, ignition and rear clamshell tailgate.
Anyone got this? What would it cost to 43228? |

Re: WTB Lock set for a burb
Andy,
Everything is the same as the truck except for the clam shell. I haven't heard of anyone making this, but I may be wrong. You might want to post this in suburban section. R

Re: WTB Lock set for a burb
All the wtb posts get deleted out of there.
I'm hoping to find a used set off of a wrecked or junk burb... one key, all locks, like it is supposed to be. |

Re: WTB Lock set for a burb
If you have all the locks, a locksmith can key them all the same.

Bob, I knew they could do that on new stuff, but on these old ones too though?

Re: WTB Lock set for a burb
I used new door lock and ignition set and had my rear lock rekeyed to match. $30 lock set and $20 rekey.
(rear handle rechromed too)

Re: WTB Lock set for a burb
thanks leon. I'll keep that in mind.
Right now I have 2 keys, one for the drivers door, one for the ignition, nothing fpor the tailgate, and lock the passenger door from inside. I usually don't even lock my doors, if they want my stereo, they'll just knock out a window (i've swept up many a window) but I still want it to be right. |

Re: WTB Lock set for a burb
I may have an extra tailgate lock. I can look when I go back to FL on the 21st.
LOCKDOC, I might jump on the re-keying part if you wouldn't mind. R

Re: WTB Lock set for a burb
Andy,
I just had the doors and rear gate latched matched to my ignition key on my 61 burb. He told me that there was no real difference in the locks from old style to new style and it coct me 35 bucks. Regards! I think that I've seen a set for burb in one of may catalogs. If you get to that point and want new let me know I'll look them back up.. I'm into using as much as I can of what I already have.... Good luck... |
