I've been thinking on going keyless on the truck. Who sells the best power door lock setup for the money?

Several on here have bought from them.

They are some of the only actuators I have heard that reliably lift our stiff locks up and down.

I have them on mine with a DEI alarm/keyless system.

i used the one at lmc, with the remotes not just the actuators. works fine from 20 feet

Just want to make sure that the power actuators do have enough pull and push....

I have seen the ad for A1electric. Just need some feedback before getting.

That kit would be excellent for our trucks.
I actually just used the 2-door lock kit, which is that same thing - minus the keyless entry they are offering. For the price, with the good actuators, and the DEI keyless system - this is a heck of a deal also.

So I have used their setup with & without their keyless entry & with my own DEI Keyless entry system.
I am a fan of the DEI system. Theirs is fine - but the DEI is better IMO (that is the keyless entry side of it only). As far as the locks go - they are top notch all the way. I couldn't ask for anything better. They slam my truck door locks up and down - have for over 2 years now I guess.

I used the 2 door lock kit from A1 too. It works great once you get it all adjusted correctly. It took a while for me to get mine working right.

These look like standard actuators that have allot of drag when try to manually lock or unlock the doors! can anyone confirm if these are hard to raise and lower manually once installed? I prefer an upper end DEI actuator that has no drag!

For the locks themselves, it was very straightforward. My alarm is the only thing that was complicated at all. Very simple otherwise.

I suppose they have some drag, but I wouldn't call it a whole lot more than what our doors have to begin with. Besides that, once you start the motion with these, they finish it...in other words, you barely push it (to lock), it pulls itself down - you pull it (to unlock) it pops itself up.

I put a similar kit to the A1 stuff made by Audiovox (same looking actuators, except black and no remotes) into my 96 DD, and I've been nothing but impressed. Made locking and unlocking the door easier if anything, and has been reliable for almost a year already.

I bought a pair of actuators at a swap meet for $5. The guy said they were out of a 90's something chevy van, and they worked great. You'll have to drill two small holes behind the door panel, and weld an extension onto the pull knob. I went the keyless entry route also. Hid everything inside my center console. Let me tell you, its very handy

would that be like the DEI system you're talking about? i can't wait to unlock my 40 yr old truck with a remote and see people scratch their head : D

I got my lock actuators at Napa 8 years ago for $10 each and one of their generic key less entry systems for $50. It worked great till about 6months ago when both key pads gave up, the actuators still work like new.

So now I put in a Autopage system made by Viper but way cheaper, I got it for $65. I still use my old actuators. Now I have key-less entry, remote start, remote window roll down and up, and a security system/Alarm. For the windows up and down I had to buy a special relay for $20 bucks. The only down side to this kit was that its directions were directed more for a professional installer. I was lucky to have a friend that had more experienced than I to help. It sounds like there are some on the board that could help though.If you are interested I will get the product numbers off of the boxes when I get home.

It is worth it all of the way. It is great to see some one walk by the truck and watch their face as I start it up from across the parking lot, it is a pretty healthy running truck

that is a good keyless but I would go with nicer two wire accutors its much easier to wire and allot less drag when you lock or unlock manually. I can get you a similar dei keyless and two of the nicer two wire accuators for that price shipped! the only advantage to that system is if you manually lock or unlock a door the other does the same. The setup I would do only would lock and unlock from the remote!

And yes - people are always grinning when I pop the locks on my '71 with a remote and it says "tweet tweet".
