1st PowderCoat piece!!!
Very happy with the way this came out!!! Powder: Tiger DryLac Wet Black. oven temp 400 degrees and a 12 min cure time. Pre heated part to 170 and shot it warm. I think this could be addicting!!!

Re: 1st PowderCoat piece!!!
powder coating is kinda fun! I'm going to shoot the calipers on my corvette sometime this week as well as do some other calipers for some friends. I wish I had a bigger oven though, cause I'm really limited on size.
I've done an intake manifold, water pump, caliper brackets, bag cups and plates, rotor hats, and a lot of misc. brackets. Did you get plugs for covering over threaded bolt holes? I don't have any....I've always just put tape in them while I spray, then pull the tape out before I bake. |

Re: 1st PowderCoat piece!!!
Now that's cool! We have a powder coating place nearby that I've used a few times... their stuff always comes out great. I like a DIY approach though... do they have a textured color/kit too?
I'd love more info!

Re: 1st PowderCoat piece!!!
Looks good, as soon as I get a shop built I plan on building an oven and going back to coating my own stuff.

Re: 1st PowderCoat piece!!!
A friend that is building a 68' Camaro stopped by the shop and asked if I could PC his chrome doorhandles in gloss black. I coated them and cooked then for 10 min...and you should see how they look against his Viper Red doors. I think he is going to delete all his chrome and go gloss black PC. I will post a pic.
