Re: WTB.....NV 4500 5 speed tranny
I have one, but it's not quite up to working order. I got it to swap into my 92 Blazer, but going with a 4l80 intstead. Guy I got it from said that the guy he got it from was noisy. It turns fine, but no shifter so I can't go threw the gears. I haven't done a thing to it since I got it over the summer. It's a 2wd version, out of a 92 3/4 ton diesel. It can be converted over to 4wd with a few parts. Need to get rid of it, some parts I need to buy...PM me if interested/....

Re: WTB.....NV 4500 5 speed tranny
I've got a 2wd version I might part with.
What year/model are ya lookin for in particular? Older version used an external hydro clutch fork setup, and newer versions used an internal hydro throwout bearing setup. Ya need the matching bellhousing for whichever style trans ya use. I've got both style of bellhousings too.

Re: WTB.....NV 4500 5 speed tranny
I could be wrong.......But I was told that the input shaft was identical to the SM 465 in length and spline, as well as throw-out bering hub. If this is the case, then I should be able to use old school clutch linkage right? The bolt pattern from tranny to bell is the same right? I know I'll need other stuff behind the tranny, but the clutch shouldn't have to change.

From what I understand, that is correct. But the bellhousing bolt spacing changed sometime, think it was with the internal slave, but not sure. Also think the dodge bell spacing is slightly different. I have not personally checked this, just what I was told when researching my trans setup a couple years ago.

Re: WTB.....NV 4500 5 speed tranny
Yea, the input is the same but the NV won't bolt to the 465 bellhousing. The early version with the external slave cylinder has a bigger bolt pattern than the 465, and the later version has the same bolt pattern as the Dodge NV.
As far as I know the only way to retain the original clutch linkage is by using an Advance Adapters bellhousing designed with the NV bolt pattern and the original clutch fork style. I've even researched using a Lakewood scattershield bell, but haven't came up with one with the big diameter clutch bearing retainer hole. When I get a chance I'll post some pics of the 3 styles of bellhousings, (SM465 and 2 NV4500 styles)
