On line tire stores?
Has anyone used an online tire store or something similar to purchase tires on the web? If you have and have had good luck could you please let me know who it was. Im shopping for tires for my 4x4 and wouldnt mind saving a little scratch.

Re: On line tire stores?
I've bought from http://www.tirerack.com/ with no problems -- also got their price (incl. shipping) and took it to a local dealer to price match.

I used Tirerack.com also- it was a no-hassle deal having my tires shipped to a local garage for install. Great price too.

Re: On line tire stores?
Bought many from tirerack also. Pay the extra buck or two for Fedex so the tires will actually make it to your house. UPS stroked me for a month before I could get tirerack to send another set.

Bought a set of 17/40 Ground Hawgs from Tyres International. I did a lot of shopping and they had the best deal. Fast dilivery too! www.tyres1.com

Re: On line tire stores?
i bought some from 4 wheel parts along with some wheels and a lift, but the whole process and package was great. i'd recommend them.

Re: On line tire stores?
For off road tires I use 4Wheel Parts Wholesalers,Tires International, and National Tire Wholesalers found in off road magazines.

Re: On line tire stores?
I bought 2 from my local discount tires to access the personal service and warrantee and the other 2 from ebay used and low cost. Comes out about the same as buying all of them online but you get the local service. Don't know if my plan will work yet since I haven't had any problems.

Re: On line tire stores?
Another vote for tirerack.com. I've used them numerous times and their prices cannot be beat, even when you add shipping. As mentioned above, some shops will price-match (incl shipping) tirerack.

Re: On line tire stores?
when you buy just the tires, do you have a problem getting them mounted and balanced for a decent price locally?

Re: On line tire stores?
mondo, it's pretty easy to get them mounted/balanced. they have some recommended installers on their site with price guarantees. i forget what i paid, but it was very reasonable. i even had my tires shipped directly to the installer. no problems.
