I was shooting for old wornout looking stripes for my hood. Its fun just trying things sometimes...

Here is my first test With JED being my sons initails and it helped me occupi him as he is five and not excited nuch unless his names is used. This is after hi-pressure car wash and another coating. Actually it isn't another coating, just filling in a bunch of spaces. Experiment in motion I guess.

That is cool. I was close today until I got greedy with process. I laid on some new paint and might try sanding tomorrow weather permitting. I was kinda sloppy with lettering but just wanted to see how it faired. I do like the edges of writing staying put and the writing inside te outline getting washed away. OK here is a pic after I washed it off and repainted it again. I am not proud but I hope to achieve a vintage result.

Your lettering looks good. Try sharpening the edges a little more, then wet sand.

Any more pics of the first truck (Hot Rod City '67) ?
