Dash speakers.

Hey all,

What size are the speakers in the dash? I'm getting ready to put some tunes in my 83 and I want to make sure I get the right size. How about the stock back speakers? 4"x10"?

I also found a pretty cherry stock Delco am/fm, cassette. But the knobs are missing. Does anyone carry those knobs?

Thanks, jc

Re: Dash speakers.

I think the ones in the dash are 3.5"

There is a spot for a 4x10 in the center for those with only an AM radio. I believe this info is correct

And yes, 4x10 in the rear brackets.

Re: Dash speakers.

i rplaced the 3.5s in my dash with a good set of rockford fosgates that fit well. compared to the old factory ones the sound 100%better. i know pioneer still makes 4x10s that are pretty decent. i think they go for around 129.00

Re: Dash speakers.

Go to crutchfield.com. Even if you don't buy from them, you get an easy idea of what's available at stock size, no modification.

You might have fm but stereo requires 2 speakers.

Re: Dash speakers.

a few companies make 4x10's I found that memphis audio has some, which I love memphis stuff, kicker also makes some, I have them in my monte carlo and LOVE kicker stuff, also pioneer and kenwood does.

They run around $100 a set but I searched for the part number on yahoo like say kicker ks410 lowest or cheapest and found some cheap, like $60, went to cardomain and they price matched it to be cheaper and got em through them. If you got the time it's the way to go, and cardomain is a good reliable place to order from IMO, instead of theese companies on the net who hardly anyone knows.

Re: Dash speakers.

I have the stock back speaker brackets with speakers if anyone is interested. I just need to clean up the garage, so they are free to a good home.
